Forget, for the moment, followers on Twitter and Facebook likes. Those basic measurements for social media and other digital campaigns and promotions remain important, but the conversation among agencies, brands, teams and leagues targets a deeper dive.

I recently spoke with Monty Mullig and Ned Simon, General Manger/Digital and SVP/Media Services, respectively, at CSE, an Atlanta-based agency that offers TV clients such as Turner Broadcasting, the Southern Conference, and NBC Sports, - as well as consumer brands like AT&T and Coca-Cola - everything from marketing, advertising, digital, client representation, and production.
Following CES and with the upcoming launch of the Apple iWatch, wearables are generating a huge amount of conversation. One of the promises of all of this conversation is a move to a more frictionless future. As wearables evolve from fitness and health-centric devices to more productivity and assistive functionality, users will be able to focus on other tasks with the help of technology.
We have entered an age of ubiquitous computing, enabling the "Internet of Things". This year we may see billions of devices connected to the Internet, blurring the lines between physical and digital, and creating new networks of access and immense amounts of data. The wealth of these networks can be unlocked by marketers who can shift their thinking to focus on consumers and how they travel on these networks. We call this mind shift omni-channel marketing.
